KELOWNA – A high tea at Kelowna’s most expensive property raised almost $12,000 for a local charity last weekend.
Cheryll Gillespie and Sam Shakura of Rock House Style opened their multi-million dollar home for a formal event March 20.
The High Calibre, High Tea also included a silent auction, tea and snacks for more than 100 people dressed in garden party attire, according to a media release. They raised almost $12,000 for The Responsible Animal Care Society, which was instrumental in removing and caring for 800 rabbits in Kelowna in 2008.
TRACS relys solely on donations from the public and have launched “Buy a Carrot, Sponsor a Bunny” where a donation of $30 helps feed the animals in their care.
“The outpouring of support seen at the event was truly amazing,” Cyndy Mymka writes in the release.
