BCHL Playoffs: West Kelowna Warriors down Penticton Vees to take series lead

PENTICTON – The West Kelowna Warriors edged the Penticton Vees 2-1 in game five of the BCHL Interior Division final last night, March 25, at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

With the win, the Warriors lead the best-of-seven playoff series 3-2.

Warriors defenceman Rylan Yaremko scored the game winning goal late in the third period. Yaremko fired a wrist shot towards the net that bounced off the top of goalie Zach Driscoll’s glove, then off the cross-bar, and went in with just over four-minutes left on the clock.

The Warriors won their third straight game, and are just one win away from their first Interior Division title.

Game six will be played tonight at 7 p.m. at Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna.
