KAMLOOPS – The Japanese Cultural Centre is the latest to be targeted by thieves, this time in an overnight break and enter.
On Tuesday, May 20, RCMP went to the Japanese Cultural Centre on Vernon Avenue where a suspect(s) pried open the locked door and forced open a safe taking an undisclosed amount of cash. The alarm system was also disabled.
Over the weekend the SPCA branch was also robbed, with phone wires cut to disable the alarm system. RCMP say there are similarities between several break and enters they are investigating but it is too early to link the incidents.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
