MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – State police say the owners of a Rhode Island computer service and repair shop have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the illegal access and sharing of nude images found on customers’ cellphones and computers.
Police say 58-year-old Gary Gagne and 35-year-old Daniel Anton, both of Jamestown, were charged Friday with soliciting others to commit the crime of accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes and conspiracy. Both were released on $30,000 bail after a court appearance.
They are the co-owners of Flint Audio Video in Middletown.
Police say one of their employees accessed private photos found on devices brought in for repair without the owners’ permission and shared them with Gagne and Anton.
A man who answered the phone at the shop Friday hung up on a reporter.
