Vigil held for 10th anniversary of missing Kamloops woman

KAMLOOPS – A candle vigil was held last night to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a Kamloops woman’s disappearance.

Jessie Foster’s mother, Glendale Grant organized the March 29 event to commemorate her daughter's disappearance in Las Vegas 10 years ago. More than 50 people attended to support Grant and her family, including members of Sherri McLaughlin’s family.

McLaughlin went missing from Kamloops more than 20 years ago.

Grant, who founded Mothers Against Human Trafficking, spoke to the crowd about her daughter, thanked attendees for their support and Mark Price or Kamloops Crime Stoppers talked about the importance of vigilance.

“The emotion in people’s faces, the children running around, jumping and laughing; it was everything you would want of a gathering of people together,” Grant says. “It wasn’t too heavy.”

Another of Grant's daughters, Jennifer, is writing a book about her sister. She's currently editing it and raising funds to sulf-publish.

Foster dissappered in Las Vegas while living with her boyfriend. Grant believes she was sold to human traffickers.
