Controlled burn underway near Savona
KAMLOOPS – That smoke you see west of Kamloops near Savona is part of a controlled burn.
Smoke could be visible from Savona, Highway 1 and Kamloops Lake as B.C. Wildfire works with Skeetchestn First Nation to complete a prescribed burn in the Savona area.
A perimeter containing fewer fuels is being created so future prescribed burns will be easier to contain.
The wildfire service says favourable weather and site conditions are making the burn possible today.
