Thieves hit Armstrong’s Norval sports centre

ARMSTRONG – The Norval Sports Centre in Armstrong was the target of two break-and-enters over the past month, and police are hoping to get some help from the public to solve the crimes.

The most recent break-in happened the night of March 29 at the sports centre, located at 3351 Park Drive. It is the second time the arena storage compound was broken into over the past month, Cpl. Todd Bowden says in a media release.

In the March 29 incident, several gerry cans of fuel were taken as well as a red coloured welder with 'Armstrong Spallumcheen Sports and Rec’ stencilled on it.

“Police are asking for the public's assistance with any information regarding these incidents,” Bowden says.

Tips can be made to the Armstrong RCMP Detachment at 250-546-3028 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477, quoting file number 2016-5942.
