Moscow’s Social Protection Department says it had received no complaints about trouble in a household where a father was stabbed to death by his teenaged daughters, who alleged he had abused them for years.
The killing last week of Mikhail Khachaturian has attracted wide attention in the Russian news media. His daughters, aged 17, 18 and 19, are being held on charges of murder that could lead to life imprisonment.
News reports say the daughters have confessed to the killing, claiming that the father had treated them like slaves and threatened them with guns and knives.
But the social protection wing of the Moscow mayor’s office said Wednesday it had not received any complaints, the RBC news agency reported.
