Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Silver Bear Resources Inc. (TSX:SBR). Miner. Up half-a-cent, or 10 per cent, to 5.5 cents on 7.7 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up six cents, or 2.99 per cent, to $2.07 on 7.3 million shares.

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TSX:TD). Bank. Down 22 cents, or 0.41 per cent, to $53.64 on 4.9 million shares.

Regal Lifestyle Communities Inc. (TSX:RLC). Health-care. Up $2.62, or 27.75 per cent, to $12.06 on 4.8 million shares. The retirement home chain has agreed to a friendly takeover by Revera Inc. and Health Care REIT Inc (NYSE:HCN). The Ohio-based company and Revera of Mississauga, Ont., have offered $12 per share for Regal in a deal that values the Toronto-based company at $766 million, including $359 million of assumed debt.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up seven cents, or 2.92 per cent, to $2.47 on 4.8 million shares.

Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX:R). Miner. Up half-a-cent, or 1.06 per cent, to 47.5 cents on 3.9 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Oil and gas. Up three cents, or 0.05 per cent, to $55.55 on 1.5 million shares. The National Energy Board says isn’t ready to let Enbridge start shipping crude to Quebec refineries just yet. But the federal watchdog granted Enbridge “leave to open” its Line 9B pipeline between southern Ontario and Quebec on Thursday. Before operations can begin, Enbridge must do hydrostatic testing along three densely populated segments — near Hilton, Ont.; Kingston and Brockville, Ont., and Mirabel, Que.
