Montreal-area woman hospitalized with numerous lacerations after dog attack

LAVAL, Que. – A 42-year-old woman in the Montreal area has been hospitalized after being bitten several times by a dog.

Laval police spokeswoman Evelyne Boudreau said Thursday the victim’s life was not in danger but that she suffered numerous lacerations to her body and possibly a broken arm.

Officers arrived at a home and found the victim in a state of panic, moments before the dog began attacking her again.

Boudreau said officers tried to subdue the animal but failed and were forced to kill it.

Police couldn’t name the breed of the dog but said it belonged to someone who knows the victim.
