OTTAWA – Belleisle Foods Ltd. is recalling its Belleisle Farms brand of Cole Slaw from stores due to possible Listeria contamination.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the product, which comes in 227-gram packages with a best before date of Sept. 28.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating, and says more products may be recalled.
The agency says the affected cole slaw was sold in all four Atlantic provinces.
It says consumers should not consume the product, and anyone who thinks they may have gotten sick from it should contact their doctor.
Symptoms of listeriosis include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness.
