GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – An elementary school teacher in South Carolina is accused of dragging an 11-year-old student to the edge of her classroom before kicking him out of way to shut the door.
News outlets report a spokeswoman for the Berkeley County School District, Katie Orvin Tanner, announced last week that Tierra Walker no longer works for the district. Surveillance video from this month shows the boy dragged to the edge of the classroom, his backpack thrown into the hall and a leg kicking him out of the doorway.
Goose Creek Police Maj. John Grainger says classmates report Walker dumped the boy out of his chair before dragging him out of the room. Police say witnesses report he was making animal noises and refused to leave. Police say no charges will be filed.
