Moscato denies saying that morale in Canadian World Cup camp is bad
VANCOUVER – Veteran defender Carmelina Moscato has dismissed comments attributed to her that morale in the Canadian camp is poor at the Women’s World Cup.
Former Canadian international Christine Latham, now working as a TV analyst, said prior to the Fox TV broadcast of the Canada-Swiss game that Moscato had told her there were problems in the camp.
Latham said Moscato was also concerned about Canada’s choice of the starting 11.
Moscato rebutted the comments after practice Wednesday, saying Latham — while a friend — had misrepresented her words.
Moscato said morale was excellent, a view echoed by coach John Herdman.
