Second-degree murder charge after Nov. 4 death of Port Coquitlam man
PORT COQUITLAM, B.C. – A charge of second-degree murder has been laid following a slaying in Port Coquitlam, B.C.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Elwood Poorman was charged on Friday and will return to court on Tuesday.
Detectives say 36-year-old Jonathon Shingoose was found dead in a home earlier this month.
They described the incident as an altercation but did not say how Shingoose died.
A man in the home was taken into custody when Shingoose was found.
Police said the two men knew each other and there was no risk to public safety.
