RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia is turning to the star of “Homeland” to help boost tourism.
The state’s tourism office released an online video Monday featuring actress Claire Danes talking about how much she enjoyed spending time in the Old Dominion. “Homeland” filmed its seventh season in central Virginia in 2017 and 2018.
Danes stars in the show, which has taken her bipolar, now former CIA agent Carrie through dangerous conflicts that sometimes mirrored real-world events.
The online promotional video is part of a partnership between the studio that makes “Homeland” and the Virginia Film Office.
