Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Condor Petroleum Inc. (TSX:CPI). Oil and gas. Up half-a-cent, or 3.23 per cent, to 16 cents on 13.8 million shares.

Carpathian Gold Inc. (TSX:CPN). Miner. Down half-a-cent, or 25 per cent, to 1.5 cents on 8.7 million shares.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Down 32 cents, or 2.92 per cent, to $10.65 on 5.1 million shares. The Waterloo, Ont.,-based company says it’s prepared to buy back and cancel up to 12 million of its common shares over the next year. Based on the most recent closing price for BlackBerry shares, the buyback program would cost the company about $131.6 million.

Intermap Technologies Corp. (TSX:IMP). Business Services. Up three cents, or 7.79 per cent, to 41.5 cents on 4.9 million shares.

Western Forest Products Inc. (TSX:WEF). Forest Products. Up seven cents, or 3.14 per cent, to $2.30 on 4.2 million shares.

Black Iron Inc. (TSX:BKI). Miner. Unchanged at three cents on 3.6 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Dollarama Inc. (TSX:DOL). Discount Retailer. Up 77 cents, or 1.02 per cent, to $76.40 on 258,682 shares. A Dollarama analyst expects the discount chain will eventually expand in Latin America as its Canadian growth winds down. Peter Sklar of BMO Capital Markets says it is increasingly likely that the Montreal-based company will exercise its option to acquire majority ownership in Dollar City in February 2019.
