Kelowna man airlifted from North Okanagan crash scene

NORTH OKANAGAN – A car accident at Salmon River Road and Highway 97 resulted in one man being transported away by air ambulance.

On June 30 around 2:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to a motor vehicle incident involving two vehicles, a Dodge van and a Ford F350 truck.

The investigation determined the Dodge van crossed a double solid line and collided with the southbound truck. The driver of the van was trapped for some time with a broken leg and a concussion. The Vernon Fire Dept was able to free him from the wreck.

The 25-year-old male driver from Kelowna was airlifted to Kelowna hospital.

The officers are continuing their investigation and are looking into the role drugs and alcohol may have played in the incident.

The two people in the truck from Salmon Arm were not injured.
