Cyclist killed in Kelowna crash

KELOWNA – A cyclist is dead after a crash with a vehicle in Kelowna this afternoon.

RCMP say the collision happened in the intersection of Banks Road and Baron Road.

“The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police,” Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release.

Emergency crews are on the scene and Banks Road is closed between Highway 97 and Baron Road until further notice. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

A RCMP collision resconstructionist is investigating.

Police aren't releasing any information about the victim at this time.
