St-Pierre, Condit shake hands and exchange compliments ahead of championship bout

MONTREAL – Expect the fighting to be limited to the cage in the main event of UFC 154.

Welterweight rivals Georges St-Pierre and Carlos (Natural Born Killer) Condit were killing each other with kindness Wednesday at the pre-fight news conference.

The two put on their game face for a photo op, but spent much of their time on stage at a local nightclub paying compliments to each other’s fighting abilities.

St-Pierre is the local favourite and champion, but is coming back from an 18-month layoff due to reconstructive knee surgery.

In his absence, Condit defeated Nick Diaz to earn the interim 170-pound title.

The two face off Saturday night at the Bell Centre to determine who is the undisputed mixed martial arts champion.
