Sun Peaks announces free Alan Doyle concert

SUN PEAKS – An east coast folk rock star is heading up the mountain.

Sun Peaks Resort announced today, April 21, Alan Doyle and the Beautiful Gypsies will be playing at the mountain village Saturday, Aug 20 as part of the resorts summer concert series.

Alan Doyle came to prominence as the front man for award winning east coast folk rock band Great Big Sea.

The concert will have a free section, according to a media release from Sun Peaks Tourism, though a front area is ticketed.

The show will be outdoors no matter the weather, says the release and more acts are to be announced at a later date.

The Sam Roberts Band will be playing a free concert as well during the July portion of the summer concert series.
