WINNIPEG – It seems the Winnipeg Blue Bombers won’t be missing their offensive catalyst.
Head coach Mike O’Shea told reporters Monday he believes quarterback Drew Willy will play Friday when the Bombers host the Montreal Alouettes.
Willy was knocked from Winnipeg’s 52-26 home loss to Hamilton on Thursday night after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit.
He was listed as day-to-daym but the 28-year-old resumed practising Monday with the starting offence and said afterwards he’s experiencing no lingering affects from the injury.
Three starters — Montreal’s Jonathan Crompton, Saskatchewan’s Darian Durant and Edmonton’s Mile Reilly — were all injured the opening week of the season while Toronto’s Ricky Ray opened the campaign on the six-game injured list as he recovers from off-season shoulder surgery.
