EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. – As ski season begins in Colorado, skiers headed for Vail or Beaver Creek will find expanded air service from several cities to Eagle County Regional Airport.
The Vail Daily reports that both American and United airlines now offer winter flights from Los Angeles. In addition, United has expanded its service from Washington, D.C.
Altogether, United, American and Delta airlines will fly skiers from 13 cities when the winter flight season starts Dec. 19.
However, Air Canada has dropped its partial-season flights from Toronto to Eagle County.
The Eagle County airport is undergoing a $33 million improvement project that includes new jet bridges to four of the commercial terminal gates, leaving only two ground-loading gates. The project is scheduled to be finished a year from now.
