MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens have signed Finnish defenceman Otto Leskinen to a two-year, entry-level contract.
The five-foot-11, 187-pound Leskinen had eight goals and 23 assists in 57 games with the Finnish league’s KalPa Kuopio this past season. The 22-year-old tied for second on the team in assists and was fourth in points.
Leskinen has played 178 career games with Kuopio since making his pro debut in 2015-16, registering 55 points (11 goals, 44 assists) and 66 penalty minutes.
An undrafted free agent, Leskinen participated in the latest Canadiens’ development camp in June 2018.
