99-year-old man on scooter dies after collision with truck in Newmarket, Ont.

AURORA, Ont. – A 99-year-old man has died after the scooter he was riding on was hit by a pickup truck north of Toronto.

York Regional police say the man was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado truck when he was crossing the driveway of an entrance to a shopping plaza around 12:30 p.m. Monday in Newmarket, Ont.

They say the man was taken to hospital where he died.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
