Back to the table: NHL and players association agree to meet in NYC on Monday

It looks like the moratorium on the NHL’s collective bargaining may not last two weeks.

The NHL and NHL Players’ Association have tentatively agreed to meet in New York City on Monday, according to deputy commissioner Bill Daly.

Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr discussed the possibility of taking a break in negotiations earlier this week, but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

The sides last met on Nov. 11.

They continue to be split on three key issues: the division of money, player contract rights and who will pay for the damage inflicted by the lockout.

The work stoppage started Sept. 15 and has resulted in the cancellation of 327 regular-season games.
