Walmart Canada takes down online photo centre, cites potential data breach

TORONTO – Walmart Canada has taken down its online photo processing store including its mobile applications after learning of a possible data breach.

The retail giant says customer credit card data on its photo centre website, which is operated by a third-party, was potentially compromised.

The company says it immediately launched an investigation and will be notifying customers who may have been affected by the breach.

It says it has no reason to believe that transactions on Walmart.ca, Walmart.com or in stores have been affected.

Walmart Canada is recommending photo centre customers monitor their credit card transactions closely.
