Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TSX:TD). Bank. Up 55 cents, or 1.05 per cent, to $52.71 on 4.7 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down eight cents, or 4.04 per cent, to $1.90 on 4.5 million shares.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Up 23 cents, or 6.91 per cent, to $3.56 on 4.3 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 26 cents, or 2.04 per cent, to $12.48 on 4.1 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down 40 cents, or 2.50 per cent, to $15.62 on 3.9 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up 11 cents, or 0.31 per cent, to $35.16 on 3.2 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Cogeco Inc. (TSX:CGO). Communications Services. Down 84 cents, or 1.49 per cent, to $55.43 on 6,391 shares. The cable television distributor and media company’s profit and revenue jumped in the third quarter, mainly on the back of growth in its U.S. cable services as well as favourable exchange rates.

Corus Entertainment Inc. (TSX: CJR.B). Specialty television, radio. Down $1.48, or 8.99 per cent, to $14.98 on 761,416 shares. CEO Doug Murphy says the company had a disappointing third quarter but made progress towards future growth. The Toronto-based company’s overall revenue for the three-month period fell five per cent to $203.1 million from $214 million in the third quarter of 2014.
