KAMLOOPS – A man was beaten behind the Rock'n Firkin Pub yesterday afternoon when he refused to give up his backpack to strangers.
At about 4 p.m. RCMP were called to the pub at 7-726 Sydney Ave. where they found a 45-year-old man and two witnesses at the scene. Mounties were told the victim was approached by an unknown male and female who attempted to take the man's backpack before they assaulted him. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The first suspect is described as a First Nations man in his late 30's wearing dark blue jeans, a black backpack and green or tan baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a First Nations woman, about 30-years-old, medium build, brown, shoulder length hair, wearing a dark coloured T-shirt.
