SAN FRANCISCO – The Latest on a hit-and-run crash involving a pedicab in San Francisco (all times local):
6:30 p.m.
San Francisco police say a pedicab driver was critically hurt by a hit-and-run driver and his four passengers, a family with two children, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Officer Grace Gatpandan says police are searching for a sedan that was seen heading toward the Bay Bridge following the crash Wednesday along the city’s waterfront. The pedicab was left dented with one of its rear wheels crushed.
San Francisco General Hospital spokesman Brent Andrew says the hospital is treating four patients, including two children.
He says a man is in critical condition and a woman is in serious condition. He says he cannot disclose the conditions of the children.
The crash happened along the embarcadero, a long, wide stretch of walkway that links restaurants and tourist attractions and is typically crowded with joggers, cyclists, walkers and tourists.
Police say the children are 5 and 8.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the driver was seen in a gold sedan heading toward the Bay Bridge.
