Man taken to Kamloops hospital with slashed face

KAMLOOPS – A man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital early this morning after receiving a slash on his face.

Just after midnight, May 5, police responded to reports of a stabbing near 12th Avenue. They found a 30-year-old man with a three to four inch slash on his cheek, but the man would not tell police how he got the slash, RCMP say in a release.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police discovered there was a warrant for his arrest after failing to comply with conditions and they arrested him after he was released from the hospital. He will appear before a judge today.

Police are still looking for information on how the man got the slash on his face. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
