Koe and Cotter to meet in men’s final of Rogers Masters Grand Slam of Curling

BRANTFORD, Ont. – Kevin Koe defeated Olympic champion Kevin Martin 6-5 on Sunday to reach the final of the Rogers Masters Grand Slam of Curling.

Koe, from Calgary, needed an extra end to defeat the veteran skip from Edmonton. Koe will meet Jim Cotter of Kelowna, B.C., in the championship game later Sunday at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

Cotter beat Steve Laycock of Saskatoon 6-3 in the other semifinal.

Ottawa’s Rachel Homan will meet Winnipeg’s Chelsea Carey in the women’s final.

Homan advanced with a 5-4 win over Eve Muirhead of Scotland while Carey dumped Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland 7-2.
