Wayfair LLC. says it’s opening its first Canadian delivery and warehouse facility in Mississauga, Ont.
The home goods e-commerce retailer says the centre will bring 200 jobs to the region and it is currently looking to fill positions including some in management, industrial engineering and customer service.
The centre will be roughly 74,500 square metres (800,000 square feet) and aims to help deliver home products to Canadian customers faster.
Vice-president of Canada and lifestyle brands Paul Toms says in a statement the facility will allow the company to move its heaviest and bulkiest items faster.
Toms says the Boston, Mass.-based company will also introduce personalized delivery options and real-time delivery tracking in some regions.
Wayfair’s website offers more than 10 million home furnishing, decor and other items to customers.
