CLEARWATER – The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has mailed out petitions to Upper Clearwater property owners to determine the fate of the annual grant-in-aid service for operation of the Upper Clearwater Community Hall.
The deadline for submitting completed petitions to the TNRD is noon on Tuesday, June 14.
The public assent process for the Upper Clearwater Community Hall grant-in-aid comes on the heels of a survey sent out earlier in the year that gauged support for continued funding for the community hall operation through property taxation. Based on the survey results, which were nearly evenly split, the Board of Directors authorized a public assent process through formal petition to finally determine if the service will be repealed.
Anyone with questions or further clarification regarding the public assent process, should contact Carolyn Black, corporate officer, at cblack@tnrd.ca or phone 250-377-8673. Information is also available at tnrd.ca.
