State media say Beijing police detain 4 in connection with fitting room sex video

BEIJING, China – Chinese state media say police in Beijing have detained four people in connection with a sex video purportedly taken inside a Uniqlo fitting room that spread rapidly online.

Xinhua News Agency said the four were detained on suspicion of spreading obscene content, citing a police statement late Sunday. Police said they were still investigating the couple who can be seen in the video apparently having sex in the Japanese retailer’s flagship Beijing store.

Xinhua said the couple admitted sending the video to a friend on popular mobile chatting app WeChat, but that it had somehow become hacked and posted on Sina Weibo’s microblogging platform, according to police.

Xinhua says a 19-year-old man is suspected of posting the video online and the other three of spreading obscene information.
