B.C.’s busiest emergency room flooded after construction accident

SURREY, B.C. – The busiest hospital emergency room in B.C. has been flooded by contaminated water, and patients are being taken elsewhere.

The Fraser Health Authority says a construction accident caused a water main to break at Surrey Memorial Hospital and there’s significant damage to the hospital’s ER.

Patients in the ward at the time of the accident are being treated at an outpatient centre and a nearby physiotherapy clinic.

People are being told to stay away from the area. (News1130)
