Rewards company Aeroplan adds Brazilian airline Avianca to list of partners

TORONTO – Loyalty rewards company Aeroplan (TSX:AIM) is adding Brazilian airline Avianca to its list of partners.

The deal means Aeroplan members can now earn and use Aeroplan miles for travel with Avianca Brazil.

Avianca, a Star Alliance member, offers flights to cities throughout Brazil, operating from its main hub at Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport.

Aeroplan’s chief airline partner is Air Canada, which spun off its loyalty rewards program as part of a restructuring in 2002.

Aeroplan is owned by Aimia.
