Sebastian Junger writing book, scheduled for next May, on troops returning home
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sebastian Junger’s next book will continue his reporting on veterans, this time on what happens when they return home.
Hachette Book Group imprint Twelve told The Associated Press on Wednesday that its plans a May 2016 release for Junger’s “Tribe.” The book is a sequel to “War,” which drew upon his time with U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan in 2007-2008. “Tribe” will focus on stresses that veterans face after completing their service.
According to Twelve, Junger will note the “irony” of some veterans missing war and that many aspects of PTSD have only appeared in recent decades.
Best known for “The Perfect Storm,” Junger will combine history, psychology and anthropology as he probes the “alienating effects of modern society.”
