
Body of missing Penticton man found
PENTICTON – Police report today Penticton missing person Kees Van Egmond has been found dead.
Van Egmond, 76, was last heard from on May 4 and was reported missing to police last Friday, May 6.
RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Dave Tyreman says the man was located in a remote rural area of Osoyoos on May 10, at 3:30 p.m.
Tyreman says police do not suspect foul play was involved in the death.
The B.C. Coroners office has since taken over the investigation.
Members of Van Egmond’s family became worried after losing touch with him for an unusually long period of time. Van Egmond was diabetic, and family members were concerned he might need medical assistance.
