Abbotsford, B.C., teen vanishes after frantic call for help cut off

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – An Abbotsford, B.C., teenager has vanished after making a frantic call to a friend Monday night saying he was in trouble and needed police.

Investigators in the Fraser Valley community hope someone has spotted 18-year-old Mohsin Shah or his grey Acura SUV.

They say Shah left his home, 65 kilometres east of Vancouver, at 7 p.m. Monday for a meeting at a nearby hotel, but made the panicked call a short time later and never arrived at his destination.

Police say the friend who received Shah’s call reports the teen said he was in trouble and wanted someone to immediately contact police and his family, but the call was then cut off.

All efforts to return the call have failed.

Abbotsford police would like to talk to anyone who has seen Shah or the 2005 Acura MDX with licence 986 XKN.
