Vacancies by province:

Ontario: 7 vacancies out of 24 seats

Quebec: 6 vacancies out of 24 seats

Manitoba: 3 vacancies out of 6 seats

New Brunswick: 2 vacancies out of 10 seats

Nova Scotia: 2 vacancies out of 10 seats

British Columbia: 1 vacancy out of six seats

Prince Edward Island: 1 vacancy out of four seats

If there are no new appointments and existing senators retire at the mandatory age of 75:

— NWT would be first to have no senate representation at all on Nov. 21, 2018

— Manitoba would only have 2 of 6 senators by May 7, 2017

— Nova Scotia would be down to half its representation (5 of 10 senators) by November 2017

— Ontario would be down to half its representation (12 of 24 senators) by August 2018

— Quebec would be down to half its representation (12 of 24 senators) by October 2019
