Elections Canada returns show which riding associations have the most money in the bank

OTTAWA – A riding association with a lot of savings will have a big advantage during what is expected to be an extra-long election campaign this year. Here are the top 10 richest Liberal riding associations based on financial returns filed this month to Elections Canada:

Ottawa-Vanier (MP: Mauril Belanger): $200,561.00

Halifax West (Geoff Regan): $147,218.52

Toronto-St. Paul’s (Carolyn Bennett): $144,220.84

Vancouver Quadra (Joyce Murray): $142,214.53

Ottawa West-Nepean (No incumbent Liberal MP): $135,436.48

Waterloo (No incumbent Liberal MP): $128,995.51

Edmonton Centre (No incumbent Liberal MP): $125,849.62

Oakville (No incumbent Liberal MP): $118,253.93

Mississauga-Malton (Eve Adams*): $118,046.71

Huron-Bruce (No incumbent Liberal MP): $117,314.99

Regina-Wascana (Ralph Goodale): $116,466.44

*=Eve Adams is the incumbent MP for Mississauga-Malton, but is not the nominated the candidate in the riding.
