Kamloops libraries host memoir writers

KAMLOOPS – Thee Kamloops and North Kamloops libraries host two unforgettable memoirists this May.

First, the downtown Kamloops Library hosts Christa Maxeiner on Wednesday, May 18, at 7 p.m. for a reading and discussion. Her book, Hanging by a Thread, recounts how her
family fled Russia’s Red Army in January 1945 and survived the following year in Hitler’s Germany. It is a story of bravery, resilience and survival.

Thee North Kamloops Library then welcomes Caroline Woodward on Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. Light Years is her personal account of being a lighthouse keeper in 21st-century B.C. — an account that details Caroline’s endurance of extreme climatic, interpersonal and medical challenges, as well as the practical and psychological aspects of living a happy, healthy, useful and creative life in isolation.

Registration is not required but is highly recommended to guarantee a seat.
