Suspect in custody after attempted robbery

Kamloops RCMP were involved in a chase resulting in one suspect taken into custody after an attempted robbery at the Real Canadian Superstore, about 2 p.m. Nov. 14.

"There's one person in custody right now who we believe was responsible," said Cpl. Nick Lee.

One person got away on foot.

"There were two people seen leaving the store," he said.  "It appears that they're probably youth."

Police detained one of the two suspects behind Sahali Centre Mall.

"They fled the scene," Lee said.

While Superstore staff refused to comment, Lee confirmed the use of a weapon.

"There was some kind of weapon pulled and that's still under investigation," Lee said.

Police continue to search for the second suspect.
