
Home damaged by fire in bathroom
KELOWNA – A home in the Mission is still standing but was heavily damaged by fire and smoke yesterday.
Kelowna Fire Department was called to the 400-block of Roepel Road around 6:30 p.m., May 16, and found smoke billowing from the rear of the home and the soffits of the roof. Inside they found the fire in the basement bathroom and knocked it down, according to a release from Platoon Capt. John Kelly.
"The bathroom suffered heavy fire damage with smoke and heat damage to the rest of the basement," he says.
