VIDEO: Hedley lead singer surprises local fan’s mom with Facetime chat during concert

KELOWNA – The mother of a local concert-goer was treated to a video chat with one of the bigger names in Canadian music last night.

During the sold-out Hedley concert at Prospera Place last night, May 17, lead singer Jacob Hoggard took a fan’s cell phone and called her mom.

“You’re going to have to come pick her up, she’s really drunk,” he said. “She tried to fist fight our guitar player. Did she get that from you? Is that one of your personality traits?”

Then he starts to get even more personal.

“You look nice,” he tells her. “You want to come over after?”

She declined the offer, prompting Hoggard to reply, “shut down by mom!”

He closes by telling her he will never forget her smile before giving the phone a kiss.
