New women’s professional soccer league announced, with eight U.S. teams

U.S. Soccer has announced a new women’s league in the United States.

Eight cities or regions will be part of the league’s start: Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, New Jersey, Portland, Seattle, western New York state and Washington, D.C.

The league is set to start in March or April next year.

The Canadian and Mexican soccer federations are on board for the league, looking to use the league to develop its talent.

The CSA plans to have 16 national team players throughout the league.

It’s the third attempt at a U.S. women’s pro league.

Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) was the most recent attempt, beginning in 2009 with seven teams.

It was down to six in 2011 before suspending the 2012 season and then folding.

The Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA) folded in 2003 after three seasons, failing to capitalize on the success of the 1999 World Cup.
