Riverside stabbing has police looking for suspect

KAMLOOPS – RCMP are investigating a riverside stabbing which took place on the 100 block of Tranquille Road around 5 p.m. on May 21.

According to Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a man went to a tented area to speak with a woman when he was approached and stabbed by another man unknown to him.

The victim’s stab wound was in his abdomen and is not life-threatening. He was transported to Royal Inland Hospital.

Police used a police service dog to locate the suspect but couldn't track a scent.

The victim described the suspect as heavy set with brown curly hair, wearing a blue shirt and around 25 years old.

Police do not see this attack as random; the men knew each other.

RCMP asks if anyone has more information regarding this incident to call the Kamloops Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.

  1. and wtf are cops not down at the parks patrolling at night…its friken no-man’s land down their….what, that makes like the fifth stabbing in the park in three years, and the 8th robbery. oh,. but car thefts are down! yay.
