KAMLOOPS – An investigation started by shots fired on Parkcrest Avenue in April has led police to seize significant amounts of drugs and the arrest of a man Kamloops RCMP say is connected to organized crime.

The home on Parkcrest Avenue was already on police radar but when shots were fired April 24, they started looking closer, according to a release by spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. Investigation led to another home in the 900-block of 13 Street and on May 5 they used a search warrant to enter the home. There they found a 41-year-old Kamloops man carrying: 

  • 439 grams of methamphetamine
  • 11 grams of crack cocaine
  • 114 grams of cocaine
  • 27 grams of heroin
  • 13 pills suspected to be fentanyl

Inside the home, police found stolen property and investigation led them to a storage locker where they found another:

  • 56 grams of cocaine
  • 103 grams of heroin
  • 12 bottles of steroids
  • Over 1000 grams of white powder believed to be either white heroin or Fentanyl (waiting for lab analysis)

“This investigation is an example of the concerted effort that Kamloops RCMP makes to identify, target and arrest those who are responsible for supplying and selling illicit drugs in our city,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release. “We know that there are different factions of organized crime attempting to sell drugs in Kamloops. The Target Enforcement Unit and Crime Reduction Unit is making our community safe by getting these drugs off the street.”
