Reeves leads Blades past Jr. Senators 7-4 at Canadian junior A championship

BROOKS, Alta. – Peyton Reeves had a hat trick as the Oakville Blades downed the Ottawa Jr. Senators 7-4 on Thursday at the Canadian junior A men’s hockey championship.

Kyle Potts scored and added two assists for Oakville (2-2), while Tanner McEachern, Ryan O’Hara and Christian Girhiny also found the back of the net.

Chris Elliot made 27 saves for the win.

Kyle Jackson, Danny Pion, Darcy Walsh and Colin Marshall supplied the offence for Ottawa (1-3).

Joshua Ward stopped 21-of-26 shots in 48 minutes of work for the Jr. Senators before being replaced by Francis Boisvert, who turned aside 8-of-9 shots.

Also, Andrew Lucas scored the third-period winner as the Brooks Bandits topped the Prince George Spruce Kings 3-1.

Brooks is atop the standings with a 4-0 record and Prince George is 3-1.
