PENTICTON – The regional district board has re-affirmed its commitment to move forward with an expansion of the Okanagan Falls sewer system.
The board hs approved an updated supporting resolution for a second round application of funding for the project through the New Canada Building Fund.
The regional district failed in an initial request for grant funding in 2014. A second round of applications was undertaken in late April of this year, resulting in the regional district applying for similar funding once again.
If successful, the regional district will be required to complete an alternate approval process or referendum of Skaha Estates and Kaleden property owners contained in the sewer service area within six months of receiving grant approval.
